That's awesome; Congrats! I'm assuming triangle trans is around where you live then? There just isn't much up in NY anyway.

Most tanker companies will train you if you have a good mvr and csa score and none are that hard to get on with right now. QC and Dana do a lot in the Carolinas. Pretty much all chemical tank companies in Houston and south Louisiana. Pay between companies is similar but some pay more than others for accessorials such as using the truck pump or air and demurrage(detention) pay. The amount of home time pretty much depends on the terminal with some having loads of local work and others not so much. Lot of questions for you to ask.

Out here in WA there are a lots of hazmat tanker companies. Associated Petroleum products, Harris Transportation, Jackson Oil, Kenan Advantage, The General, Superior, and many more I'll keep an eye out for. All of these are home every night and seem to pay well enough from drivers I've spoken to.

WA living is laid back, people know how to drive with truckers for the most part, people are helpful here, and the cost of living isn't astronomical.

Hmm. Thanks. I'll have to look into QC and their affiliates a bit more. I did give them a call when I first was starting out but they shot me down due to experience - I didn't have any at the time.

Wow. Yeah, I didn't realize all of those extra little additional pay! I'm sure there's more too. I'll have to do some more research on the matter.

It can't be as bad as the NorthEast, I'm assuming. Ha ha. Anyways, thanks. I never really considered WA, so I can't really ask too many questions.

    There's no income tax right?

Where are you in NYS? Interested in philly area? North Jersey has a big refinery footprint.

I lived in NY for 20 years, WA is nowhere near the same lol. Been out here in WA almost 4 years now.

Yup, no state income tax. No expensive tolls, no high car insurance, no high rent for living in a shack, nowhere near as cold as it gets out East (including snow) etc. I think you get the picture lol.
