I am looking into moving out of state, actually out of the northeast (currently living in RI). I am wondering if anyone has any experience doing this, I am not an otr driver, I drive for a contractor. I have a large family, wife and four kids, so I am not looking to do otr and be gone for weeks on end with them in a new state. So I will be looking for local work or an otr company with a dedicated account that will have me home daily, I've seen some from JB Hunt and US Xpress. Looking into moving to the southeast, anyone know of a good area to raise kids that also has good job opportunities, and affordable living? Thanks for any help.

Nashville, TN or Robertson County, TN
Good job with Cardinal Logistics in Goodlettsville. Probably make a grand a week. Delivering to grocery stores & customer unload/driver just counts number of pallets the customer pulls off. Maybe home every day or one layover a week.Last edited: Oct 12, 2014

Not to long ago System Frieght was offering a relocation bonus to Syracuse NY. and 50k a yr. It is still pretty cheap up there if you get a little ways out of the city plus its not to far to travel to Ct if you still have family there. I am not sure but I think its mostly I90 Buffalo to Albany type work. If my wife didn't have such a good job I would have went there, upstate NY is a beautiful place.
