When I asked this question, I was told that they check your fingerprints against prints from crime scenes, law enforcement datbases etc., and if they don't get any hits, they discard your prints. So even though you were fingerprinted for your hazmat, it doesn't mean you're in the system going forward. Feel free to decide whether or not you believe this explanation. I have my doubts.
