IRP is a full 12 months.
Some states offer refund if you cancel early but most do not...Driver4Christ Thanks this. -
What if i drop the states i don't run is it less money to renew

I actually started an entire thread on IRP renewal. I'm sure you can dig it up here...
The sad part of it is there is literally NO WAY to guess how much your renewal will be.
The typical rates we see are between $1500-2800/yr.
I think most guys pay around $1700-1800 though on average.
It depends on states you had, that you ran in...and then states you had but didnt (estimated) and if those are kept on the truck
for renewal, then you get 2nd year estimates.
I found a web site that will allow you to estimate IRP for an initial plate but it cant do 2nd year estimates/renewals.

Dropping states typically saves money but in some cases I found my registration is actually cheaper by carrying extra smaller
states as my plate is distributed across those which helps lessen some of the spendier states.
None of this makes any sense and just when you think you have it figured out - the opposite happens!Driver4Christ Thanks this.
