I know this was porbably asked before but here it goes again!
I know you have to renew the hazmat every two years(right?) but how about the doubles/triples and tanks? I want to get them all but dont want to get the endorsments and let it expire without needing at them at this moment.

Endorsements are good as long as the license is valid. The expiration date is the same as your CDL.
-
In Florida the other endorsements are good indefinitely. I let my class B expire for a period of seven years at one point and when I went to renew my license the old endorsements were still good and transferred.
-
hazmat expires when your tsa does, normally its 5 years. -
Yeah you have to love the tsa scam, I just heard that in California if you don't have a current medical on file they won't send out your license, thats stupid cause if someone is not planning on driving for a few years they can't get a updated license without paying the eighty dollars for the green card, I call it more gooberment control and scamming for our hard earned cash.
-
all states are going to that by 2014, its just i guess california is very very broke or just wanted to be first in line.
-
It's a federal regulation nad has been for years. To have a CDL you must have a current DOT medical card and long form. The only new part is the requirement that the states attach it to your CDL.
-
If they are going to attach it to the CDL. it should expire at the same time as your CDL. This is going to be a real hassle for drivers when it is fully implemented. If you fail to send a copy of your current medical every two years, your license could be down graded or suspended. Another thing that the feds are planning is to only allow medicals at facilities that THEY certify. I read one article that put the cost of a medical at these facilities at $225. That is a big jump from what most of us currently pay. It is just another TAX.
-
Allowing medicals only at providers the fed has certified has already been implemented.

What it means is less scamming. If you have high blood pressure and are required to get checked every year, you simply get the physical and then take the long form to the DMV, Secretary of State, whatever and attach it to the license...then when implemented they can't give you a ticket unless you didn't do this....for failing to have a long form...but I'll still carry mine.
