id love to have a waste oil heater, im renting the shop and it has natural gas heat. if i could find a portable heater that would burn waste oil id defiantly put it to use. be a great way to make use of waste oil and reduce heating costs.

a company i used to work for that had a fleet of trucks heated there shop with waste oil. but it was a huge installed unit.

I have Black Gold oil burners at my shop, they do a real good job with clean oil. Synthetics will cost you in them, and the other complaint I have is with all the oil we accumulate working for the public we still run out before spring. We bought Diesel for them some this year I couldn't ask my guys to work with no heat. We installed natural gas infareds as a back up, they do a better job anyway. Naturally with the cost of oil disposal using it for heat is the way to go.

I do all the work on my truck at home in a converted horse barn. I hate to be in their way at town, I still keep a wood stove and a butane version of the new ones we put in the big shop.

There is a cost for oil disposal? Here in MD there are companies with tank trucks that go shop to shop and pay you for it. Midstates, safety clean, crystal clean, etc. they used to take it for free but now they will actually pay for it.
