I wouldn't count on that putting something down on paper may sound good but by the time you factor in fuel insurance unexpected expenses that $600 a day could easily turn into $100 a day or even put you in the negatives. If you have never operated your own truck before I can promise you your not seeing the bigger picture. I can tell you it doesn't pay me to move my truck for less then $1000 a day and that is just average anything above that is a bonus. And my truck is payed for. On a rental? on a good week best case you might break even. but running week to week your never guaranteed the same you made last week. right now rates are terrible accept in the south I have 1 truck that grossed $6600 his net was like $3000 after expenses yet another driver only grossed $3000 with a net after expenses of $1275 he had a bad week it happens you also have to plan for the worst case scenario as well can you pay all your bills on a bad week or will you have to save up money for a rainy day breakdowns happen all the time now your $600 a day just went to -$1500 a week. there is a reason 75% of first time owner operators fail because all they see is there gross they don't look at all the little things they have to pay
