Many of my owner operators are upgrading from pre 2007 to 2013's. They avoid 2007 - 2011...
My Penske Volvo's from 16 and 17 all had some issues but they were all service and re-programmed by Penske and the problems have disappeared. The 2018 Cascadia's have been flawless so far....[famous last words]
We are going thru issues with our spotters the 2011 and 2012 have all plugged up and have had a major part of the DEF system replaced...
Repair shop has put me up against the wall.

Sitting at Velocity in Sparks as I type.
Dropped an injector on 395 around Susanville, CA (derate 25%) but was able to ease it in to here. Nearest Freightliner dealer.
#2:injector and injector harness was gonna be right at $3k but I was just under warranty by 2,000 miles. 598,000 on 600,000
(They said it's covered, I was shocked).
About 15min before time for me to be complete last night a new problem came up.
They took me to the shop and showed me the exhaust spilling out of the back of the cab at idle, pulled of the side skirt and with a glove showed me the hole in the exhaust pipe leading to the OneBox.
$14,000.
Is this just a coincidence ?
There were exhaust fumes in the cab.
I was temp idling in their parking lot before they opened and this was not an issue.
Sounded like a Vega with no muffler.
Didn't sound like that when I pulled it up to the canopy.
HmmmmmCabinover101, nikmirbre, baha and 1 other person Thank this. -
So now you need a new one box???
Velocity is shady as F.
I bought 3 of my trucks there ( Tolleson), but they are last resort to get wrenched on. The one in Tucson is ok.
Freightliner of the NW are wtf crooks too.
Fyda in Ohio is good. McCoy's in Oregon is good.jammer910Z Thanks this. -
Cabinover101 Thanks this.

Whatever happened?????

My reason is simple. The vehicle is easy fix provided you have parts, money and time. Today's vehicles need a much bigger computer you don't have access to unless you have huge amounts of money in order to find out bigger costs to fix or replace with another car. -

That is insane. People like to gripe about my old rigs, but I can get a compete overhaul kit for my engines cheaper than you can buy an injector for one of the new ones.
I wish the guy luck, but I don’t see how you can ever make it paying those kind of repair bills.Northern Nomad, D.Tibbitt, Rubber duck kw and 2 others Thank this. -
