I had installed new pinion seals on my Rears. They have not even backed the truck out of the garage.
In the meantime, I realize that my spare set of rears has the strap type driveshaft setup between the Rears and I would much prefer that. When it's time for me to get back into them I'd much rather just take 4 bolts out and it's done.
My question is, since I have not run them yet when I buy the new yokes do I need to replace the seals again?
Replace pinion seals?

It will all depend on how they come apart. Some seals are unitized with the inner seal race. Meaning you drive the seal in and then install the yoke. The two piece seals where you replace the race on the yoke separate should be alright to remove and reinstall. If Its a unitized seal then more than likely it will come apart when you remove the yoke and need replacement.

It is the actual stemco unitized seal.

If you can keep the seal together while pulling the yoke, it’ll probably be alright. I don’t know exactly what you looking at but usually there’s a deflector that will keep you from helping it separate from the yoke.
