replacing rear suspension bushings on a fld 120

    For knocking off the bottom plate,try spraying them with PB Blaster from the top side and let it soak awhile. Then take big hammer and punch and try knocking them loose. But if you are going to replace the u-Bolts, just cut them close at the bottom of the plate then knock them off.

    hey i have no more than 35000 at anytime.I got the bushing in half way on right side but i think its crooked wont go anymore .I also bought a 4ton porta power and that wouldnt work to get it in.

    get with les2. He posted earlier he has done it before. Like he said easier with them off the trk. Have to go in straight..

    Sorry was in watching a movie.

    The bottom plate is probably just gaulded on there. If the u-bolts come off easy you could probably reuse them cause they probably wasn't tight enough. I like to replace them also just to be safe.

    If you put new ones on, you will need a very long breaker bar! They have to be very tight or else they you will break your center pins.

    I would just take the springs and bushings to someone with a press.

    Or hey, now you have a perfect excuse to order yourself that new 20 ton shop press you've been dreaming about!

    I have to do my fronts as i get a slight clunk when max loaded
