I really can't think of one trucking company that is "on your side"---oh, they preach this, but as I stated in another post, from the minute a trucking company hires you, they start building a file on you that gives them ground to fire you. You are in a "thankless" job. I guess that is one main reason that I never became a "dedicated employee":biggrin_25512:

I think what the driver was referring to is that the company will charge him with a preventable for the rim.

I would not be worried about the rim unless it is an aluminum wheel.by you calling it a rim,i am thinking it is a steel wheel. IF the hit it took from the pole is a low speed hit,a good tire man can take a sledge hammer and beat the dent out of it and it will hold air again.

tell your bf/gr to pay out of pocket for that repair.reads as if all that happened was the hit broke the bead on the tire thus knocking the air out.

I have never hit a pole and not done any damage. I have hit a pole and broke the pole off at the base of the pole. It fell into the parking lot and exploded, like The Natural. I told the company and said I was very sorry. They called the Power Company who came out and put another pole up. The pole fell among many employees automobiles and didn't do any damage to anyone. I figure God was looking out for me. Did I call the police? No. I have seen Blazing Saddles. "We don't need no stinking Badges".

Other then the two totaled trucks, I am a million milers.
