Do you know of any noteworthy carriers that actually have terminals in NH or ME?

the only mega carrier i see on my end of 95 on a regular basis is prime. i heard they got a contact with McCains. the others like swift, shnieder, jb or any of those guys, i only see once in awhile. as for them not hiring out of maine, that`s a good thing. try hooking up with a company that is out of ne, best chance to get to ne.

I live a semi-decent rock toss from Exit 75 & travel I-95 to & from the Portland area quite a bit.

Prime, Schieder, & Western Express are the 3 "Most Seen" of the megas north of Portland that regularly hire newbes.... Werner & CR England seem to be around once in a while... but not much.... quite a few Primes I've seen are pulling Wal-Mart trailers... I assume in/out of Lewiston (Exit 80)

Once you have some experience options get better (Hartt, ConWay, NEMF & a buttload of other Regional carriers).

(If you can avoid them I'd stay away from WE... they're on the MSP's "excriment list")

Don't know if you are interested but Central Ref used to do some freight up there. Personally I would look for local trucks you see driving around. Keep your eye on Craigslist, I have seen a lot of good gigs posted on there.

Central Reefer, huh? That would be cool (pun intended). I wouldn't have to leave the comfort of Jerry's Kingdom.:biggrin_25521:
