well, maybe W2 is a better option......by my tally you're $40 and 2 or 3 days under water on this load. In my W2 world I'd be up by about $600. A big part of being an O/O is math.......

The answer of don't get in situations like that seems to go over your head and you are getting upset because its not the answer you want.
Well, here is the only answer available... Try and file on their bond. When that fails (Bond doesn't cover accessory pay) you have to take them to court.
Here's the kicker. They likely have a signed contract by you (rate con and/or carrier packet) so you will loose any court case if they do have said signed contract. If they don't and you end up winning, you will have to collect the money, which costs. Usually another court case to garnish the money.
After several years of court cases, taking at the minimum of 2 days off, one for each case, you've lost more than you will get.

I my own truck and have been booking my own loads for a while now.
Yes, the market is bad especially for Van but you don't go to New England or Florida etc unless it pays a fortune going in to where you can feel comfortable even deadheading out.
Your time is valuable too, you could burning an extra between all the loading and unloading all for a cheap load.
I have seen many times shorts runs like 50-100 miles in PA/MD pay more than 400+ mile loads leaving New England. -
Not sure why you would not figure out your time better. On every pick it should be scheduled at 2 hours min. You ended up with right at 4 hours total so you somehow did not figure your time line on driving. Anywhere in that area is gonna be traffic and surely with winter time it is gonna be bad roads. You did not think for a minute about that? And on top of all that you took the load for super junk pay for that area. On top of that you went to a place that had very bad reviews and is known to do what they did. No one to blame on this situation but yourself. Drive around that area a lot and never taken a load 500 plus miles for less than 1500 on my dry van. You are doing something wrong!JonJon78 Thanks this.

All spot market here with my dry van. I book my own freight with my own numbers. One man show all the way!

Yah, I book all my own loads..Van spot market.. I don’t like commitment so I don’t bother going after getting contract freight..
What you booked made me giggle.. I’d sell my equipment and buy a fleet of KIA’s and start a pizza delivery service.

You could have covered your behind if you contacted the broker after an hour waiting for your first pickup..At that point it would have placed the snafu directly in their lap..
