    Hey guys,

Just got my CDL and I really do not know too much about the industry as of right now and I haven't accepted a job just yet either. My question is what is the typical standard for getting paid while doing the reset out on the road? Do most companies not pay like a day rate for the reset? So far the couple of big companies I have spoke to do not pay anything while the reset is happening.

Some companies do pay for 34 hr. restart.
When I drove for Tankstar they gave us a choice of $50.00 or a hotel room. I always took the cash.
    Where is your location?

Freymiller - www.drive4freymiller.com is a decent refrigerated outfit that hires new cdl grads and has tuition reimbursement. Headquartered in Oklahoma City.

Very few pay anything. With HOS rules, you're still required to be "off" the same amount of time in any given 8 day period, regardless how you space it out or lump it together.

Very few new drivers will begin at a place where reset option comes into serous consideration. They just aren't ran that hard in mega carrier OTR or regional operations.

There are a couple outfits that Ive heard of paying drivers for their 34 hour reset. It is not an industry norm though. In fact, the industry norm is for the driver to do lots of free labor and waiting.

Thanks, and if I have to go OTR I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
