Those are off toll roads so you dont have to pay to get off. Yeah they are nice. Better food selection and parking is usually pretty easy at those.

I'm still trying to figure out what rest area or plaza the OP speaks of. The east coast is a large area, and all plazas and rest areas certainly aren't created equal.
I mean all I have ever wanted was to head west for the space and easy parking and this guy comes along and tells us how great the East coast ammenties are. Lol
My guess is by the time he leaves the N.East he will be frazzled and a flying j with a Denny's in Ohio will feel like heaven.

He's probably talking about the sunoco plazas off i80. 100% nose in parking, free showers, food, shop, etc. Nice clean facilities. Far better than any truck stop I've been to.

Unrelated, but Last week I went to a TA in Kentucky. GPS said it had 165 spots. I had 20mins left on my 11 and it was only 12pm so I figured I'd be golden. NOPE! Every god #### spot was full. I had to park on the side and wait for someone to leave. I thought most trucks didnt fill up until around 4PM. Surprised everyday. East coast is ###.

LMAO. Kentucky is just plain weird. It's the crossroads to the east, midwest, south, and a blackhole.
