Hmm, TS with a shower or a "Pickle Park". Whatever you think you need more I suppose.

Back in the late 90s Virginia had a two hour parking limit in the rest areas. And the cops would come and make you move too. Even in that trucks only rest area around mm13. Didn't care if you were on your rest time either.

No one has tried to sell or give me any pickles yet, but I'm not pretty like you. No dilly dilly. That's why you hate ra's, be honest.

Yep the jury has come out and defiantly decided that rest stops are more risky, for me personally i had no issues with rest stops although i ran mainly west of CO if fact 95 % of the time i was running I-15 and I - 80 from UT - CA the only issues i had was at night when every driver and his dog was camped up at the rest stop and i couldn't pull up to have my rest, so next idea was to keep driving and pull up in the morning problem solved. I was just amazed at some of the excellent conditions these rest stops were in very well maintained and designed the one just as you cross the ID border on I -84 from Ut stands out also the ones in TX on I - 40 also were brilliant . My only bad experience at a rest stop on the CA 99 near Modesto i'd parked up there waiting for a delivery the next morning at about 2am i hear a knock knock on my door i think its the police at first, only to find a "lot lizard " standing on my steps i only wind the window down a fraction she says " you want a date" i reply politely "no ma'am i was sleeping i've got to go do my delivery " so start my rig up and motor on out there to park up and continue my sleep at the receivers.

Same here. Showers are important. They should be done frequently, about once per week. I dont mess around when it comes to hygiene.

Eastbound I 20 in Louisiana. Tremont rest area. Spacious, clean and beautifully landscaped in my opinion. Good place for me and the puppy to get a decent walk. Not far past exit 93.

So, I am a beekeeper and in the military ( retire in about 10 months) and go pick up bees in CA. I found out this year that because of the truck and trailer I have, I need a CDL. I have been going to classes since the end of August and enjoying it. Hopefully by December, I will have my CDL. Anyways, I was wondering who all hauled beehives to CA and what would be the likelyhood of me driving for a commercial beekeeper. Are there drivers that specialize in hauling bees

I love using rest areas. I try to stay on a 4am-6pm shift (end time depends on how much of my 14h I use. With that schedule I'm usually able to snag an good spot at a truck stop without having to park along a curb and waking up to 20 trucks piled beside me and leaving me no exit. But as we all know, with OTR driving your not gonna be able to keep your schedule 100% of the time. So on those loads where I'm running late in the night, it keeps me stress free knowing there will be some type of spot waiting for me at a rest area. And since it's usually pull-thru or shoulder parking, I am much less concerned with someone taking my hood off compared to someone trying to jacknife a trailer next to me in a small pilot lot in the pitch black.

I will usually stop at a truck stop just before my desired rest area so I can run inside and grab something to eat real quick.

Yes there are. You can identify them very easily on sight.

It may be a situation where the Bees are taken to where they are most needed around the USA in particular times of the year. I do not go out of my way to hug bees or get silly about that sort of stuff, but we as a Nation are losing bees at a horrendous rate and if this is not reversed or improved on, we will lose the ability to pollinate our own crops and thus grow food.
