Rest/Shower Room Conditions?

They can sometimes be worse then you could have ever imagined....Bring disinfectant wipes for sure!!! Showers, are usually fairly clean, but the restrooms in truckstops and rest areas can be unimaginable. Definately bring something like shower shoes or flip flops for the showers though......my feet never touch the floor in there.

get some cheap 1.99 flip flops. Your feet will thank you for that.

Stay to the larger chains unless you are daring and then some of the cleaner mom and pop truck stops.

If you think the place might have #### roaches, it's a good place to avoid both the food and the showers.

especially if you won't eat at a place.

 

Well if you get sick easily I would avoid the job completely.
I have some slippers I usually wear but not always. Anyways, never had any issues.

 

No worse than a locker room at the gym, health club, high school...

Now if the place is owned by pakistan/indian, run, they don't understand cleaning.

Germs are everywhere, and I laugh at the guys who carry lysol into the bathroom.

 

I don't carry anything with me. If I have to worry about getting germs or something in the shower, I go somewhere else.

 

All this reliance on antibacterial crud will get you sicker than not using it.

 

Now a days most ta/petro's are the cleanest... Pilots and loves are hit or miss... Flip flops and a can of Lysol in your shower bag are always a good idea...

 

There are a lot of drivers who don't shower enough... I shower pretty much every day... It takes 15 min... I don't understand when drivers tell me they don't have time... It's just an excuse for being lazy and nasty!!! Of course there are gonna be days where it's not possibale... But I shower 98 out of a 100... You will find out real quick, this is not the norm... Too many nasty drivers put there!!!
