restrictions question.

Hello, have a question about a restriction..I started at a beer company as a helper,they later wanted to me to get my cdl...Being that we are local drivers alot of our trucks are your regular side load tractor trailors..For that reason i took my test in an automatic tractor..Now,im lookin to get the restriction off to only automatics..I've had my license going on 3 yrs now..If im to go back to DMV to get restriction off..what would that consist off? would i re-new the permits,walk around,driving all over again? or is it permit,take a stick shift tractor and just driving portion..

i plan too,got my license when i was 22..didnt know how'd i'd like driving trucks so i just kept it automatic to keep the job..now that i've moved a couple real trucks around the yard,i cant wait to get unrestricted!
