I've been buying online for several years, never been hacked yet because of it.

Practically everything I purchase online is delivered to my front door within 2 to 4 days.

When I'm out on the road for a few days, the stuff I order is there when I get home.

When I get home for a couple of days during the week, the last thing I want to do is get in my car and drive around in traffic shopping ;-)

Online shopping might work for you but I have to look at the product for defects and such besides you're otr so its not that easy to stop at certain stores.

never heard of this store. then too, sometimes stores close due to lack of advertising or notoriety.

we had Sports Authority, big brand name here, they closed. we have Dick's Sporting Goods, big brand here, they are still opened. it comes down to, "how many stores that sell the same basic stuff, survive against one another?"

i say they cannot. so sooner or later one just loses customers to the other in the area.

Sears was it's own worst enemy with the man that owns the entire name. he went on record, many years ago, when the first store closings were announced saying he could care less the stores, he just wanted the land.

when you have someone like that as an owner, you gotta know you're doomed.

That's right. He was buying up any store that wasn't on leased land and getting them at big discounts. Didn't care about the buildings, just the land.
Thinking like that is why he's rich and I'm not!

There were a lot of companies that were banking on black Friday thru cyber Monday sales In 2016. And after the numbers were tallied up they saw that the money they wanted wasn't maid.

So now there have been layoffs after layoffs. And some have or are completely closing there doors. This talk of everything going to online is somewhat false to me. Because if ppl had the $$$ they would definitely be ordering stuff they don't need. It's the American way! But since most folks are living paycheck to paycheck. The online orders aren't up either

Man, you're a real danny downer.

Let's see, this month I've hauled lumber, water, beer, salt, gluten, sugar, clothing, shingles, appliances etc.

    Somebody's buying this stuff...

Not only that, this second year as an owner operator is much better than last.

I agree with @Chinatown . Online shopping is kicking butt.
I personally have avoided on line shopping all my life. Why? I'm gone all the time. Sometimes the delivery driver would leave the package at my front door, and it would sit there for days and subject to being to being stolen. I sure didn't like that idea.

But I have always bought a Sketchers work shoes for many years. I have always bought this shoe at JC Penneys. But after visiting two big Penneys stores, I just cant find that shoe anymore in my size and in stock. So I broke down and ordered 3 pairs of these shoes on line at a price Penneys couldn't touch. I directed UPS to deliver the shoes to a UPS store where they will be safe until I get home.
6618_BOL (1).jpg $40 a pair delivered including tax and shipping. You just can't beat it.

I have done a 180 on online shopping. It's the way to go. It's almost like you don't have a choice anymore.

I'll give that driver credit. He hid the package. The package is much less likely to be stolen. You'll get an email saying the package has been delivered. I would thank him if I ever saw him.

I had a pair of shoes I ordered delivered to the wrong house (unbeknownst to me) last year.

I called Amazon and they told me to give it 24 hrs. If they still hadn't shown up, they would ship me another pair at no cost to me.

The next day a neighbor showed up with my shoes ;-)
