This one is a good deal. I don't see any new classes forming right now, but that can change daily. Recommend 'Line Haul' and not 'Local P&D' driving.
With Local P&D you spend every working day fighting Los Angeles traffic.
With Line Haul you can get out of the city on the open road and still be home every night or almost every night.

Looks like Chinatown has you covered. I retired from LE after 26 years about 6 years ago. Started trucking the next year. Been doing it since with a few months off here and there. Dang U get a much bigger pension than me but I am down south so lower cost of living. My wife go with me so we did the first few years otr and enjoyed it, I am doing a regional thing now so home weekends.
Trucking is a humbling experience at times, get used to being treated like crap at some places.and by other truckers,
but I would say overall most are ok. Not sure how much longer I am going to stay with it, just taking it week to week. Having the pension makes it easier to come and go so that has helped. I definitely respect these guys that have stuck with trucking for years..to me trucking isn't near as stressful as LE was.. but like anything...just frustrating at times..Good Luck! -
Go for it another retired Trooper here. I no longer have my cdl a few years ago because I’m insulin dependent and it took a couple years to get my levels right. I did enjoy the job and no matter what you will not be without pay if something happens.
TripleSix, Flat Earth Trucker, KLF77 and 3 others Thank this. -
This one has local and regional. Don't know anything about the pay or the company.
Phone number is on the website.

The way law enforcement officers are treated today I’m surprised there are any left. Thanks for hanging in there. I cannot imagine if we did not have law enforcement so again thanks for your service. Trucking is a way to make a decent living and you get to go places you may of never gone before. Most truckers are decent people. You have came to the right place to get some answers because we have a lot of knowledgeable members here and most feel like family. Welcome aboard.
