Welcome to the forums. If I were you, I'd check with some of the owner-operators or small fleet owners in your area. They will be more likely to appreciate your experience without making you go back for a refresher.

Please go read about CRE before you step into that trap. Like DK said, you could find something more local to help you get back into the industry. Stay away from the big bottom feeder companies, they won't appreciate your experience, nor will they compensate you for it.

Good luck and keep us posted.

You can find a local company, that has 10 trucks or so, and with being 66 years young, and prior trucking experience, you will have no problem at all.

    Welcome to the forum!
If you go with a big company, more than likely they'll want you to take a refresher. Smaller fleet... maybe just a test ride.

    Good luck to you!

What Wargames said was totally true in my case. I'd been off the road for a year, 60 years old, and really just introduced myself in person at a small 12 truck company. I was hired on the spot, I wasn't even given a road test!!:yes2557:

Be prepared though, at small companies like I'm with, you do more than drive, you load and unload your own truck, and use some BIG endloaders.
