And, last I knew they had the apprentice program too, two years in fact. At Schneider I could only get a year for the apprentice program. Definitely ask that question OP

TMC is a good company, started by a Marine and run as such. I had a 1st Sgt as my dispatcher which was kool. You will hear some negative about the company but most of that comes from those that didn't sign the line.... I wish you the best brother, and also want to give you some advice. If there is anything else you can do, besides drive truck, do that instead. HOOAH!!!

Harold was not a marine. He runs the company using many of the core values, but he himself was never a marine. Lots of people think that, but no he was never a marine

Its because people cant honestly believe that a civilian that runs such a tight ship would do so without being a marine. I think it also has a lot to do with that Harold thinks so highly of our military vets that its emphasized on the side of the trucks

Since you live in Georgia, I am currently in CDL school with millis transfer they do have a terminal in Cartersville Ga, they do OTR and regional. OTR runs east of the Mississippi for the most part. I'm not totally sure if they will take someone out of CDL school or if you actually have to go to their school. Since you are military they do give a discount on their schooling. Just a suggestion.

I know it's kinda "Mega" but Averitt has a yard in Lawrenceville, GA, they treat us retired folks pretty good, and they do now have the apprenticeship program (using the GI bill) as well. I went with them when I retired and still have no need to look further. They are not the your average company, but they are far from bad...

I'm not a recruiter, so check out the website, but I'll be happy to answer any questions if you have any.

I came off the road one time and worked in a factory for a couple months and hated it, so went back on the road. Anyway, the man that ran the factory walked and looked as if he was former military. In the break room the employees talked about him a lot and were in awe of him. They talked about all his medals and heroics in Vietnam in the Army. One day I saw him alone and struck up a conversation and asked him if he was in the military at one time. He said, no and I don't know how all that stuff got started. I signed up for the draft as required, but was never called. It's crazy, all the stories going around about me. I left it at that and never told anyone.

I am off the road now and have thought about going back to factory work myself. You know, simple 9-5 or whatever and be done. I prefer a small (about 12 or less people) company over a large company. My wife informed me yesterday that I would not be happy...lol
