I don't know if you picked a city but start looking at local companies and places like ups to start working on the docks and move into driving with weekends off.

You still workin' on this? I know, big decision,,for some, not me, but it would seem, for a part time driver, weekends would be the best bet. I did another P/T gig for a buddy, ( Not the Marmon guy)he had a 5 day steady freddie, but was too many hours for one person, so it was SUPPOSED to be, he drove T, W, TH, and I took Friday and Monday. He had the weekend off ( starting required a 7:30 pm Sunday start time, which messes up anybody's weekend) It worked for a while, almost a year, then,,,yup, you guessed it, his health began to fail, and you know who was running the truck all week. THAT lasted 2 weeks. You just can't win with p/t trucking, trust me, I tried.

If you have a CDL they will hire you. You will make less per hour/mile than the employee drivers. That's how the driver service makes their money. The upside is you can have more flexibility in schedule than an employee driver.
