After the deer incident I got everything delivered..

I pulled away from the dock to let another truck back in. . Got about 50 feet and hear a loud POP and air rushing. . Thought dang! (Actually another word that starts with D) I blew an air line. . Grabbed another gear to get further away and hear skidding tires. . Get out and look. . Wasn't the airline it was the glad hand on the trailer.. broke in half. .14 years, never even heard of this.

Call break down and they send a mobile repair truck. . Took 2 minutes to fix. . Charged $232.16 what a racket! I thought Richie at ACT was going to have a heart attack. .I should have bob tailed to a parts house and fixed it myself. . The repair guy said it was the second one that day he had replaced. ..

I received a pre plan loading in Jackson TN (drop/hook) delivering in Cincinnati next day d/h.. never so glad to get rid of a trailer in my life! Trailer 1556 avoid it if you can.

I delivered in Cincinnati and got a load assignment picking up 16 miles away live load, delivering east point ga Saturday morning. The load out of Jackson was heavy and cost me 2 tenths of a mile. . The load going to GA is only 17, 000lbs And I should be able to make that back up.

I checked my settlement for tomorrow ( 2/7/14).. this is how it breaks down.

I had 2, 690 loaded miles 690 empty miles= 3, 380 total.
My fixed expenses are 680 $
Qualcomm says I'm getting 8mpg (dash says 7.8 )
I drive 60 mph loaded and empty (occasionally 58 )
I grossed $5, 160.
My bank account will receive $2, 234.00 direct deposit

Yes..I had a half tank of fuel at the end of the pay period. . $400 in the tank. .ugh!

Everybody that cusses because they have to pass a 60mph truck. .SEE ABOVE.. that's why. .

I'd rather drive slow and get 8mpg And keep my money vs. Running 70mph, get 6mpg and give $1, 000 to Pilot. . They have enough money.

I don't know. .I think you can only do it at the yard. . Use your company badge to go thru wash. . Once a day

Wash outs we have to call and get a PO.. so I'm thinking no

 

Card wasn't active. . That's weird. .

I watch for do it yourself truck washes also. .I can clean the truck with a hand full of quarters just as good or better than the streakin beacon that charges $50.

 

Sometimes trucking sucks!

I arrive at the shipper on time and goto the door that says. . Drivers enter. . Shipping/receiving. . Ring the bell. . Wait. . Ring the bell.. wait. . <--repeat 3x

It's 7 degrees and I'm not happy, so I walk around the building looking for an office to chew someone's rear so they will chew someone else's. ! Right address, wrong business! UGH!

Goto the right business at the other end of the building (Big building).. go inside, give them the pick up number. . Get told door 124ish on the back side of the building. I say "ish?" Yeah, 124, 125, 126 whatever is open. Drive around back, there is NO 124, 125, 126 but there is door 25 That is open. Back in. . Look around. .I got a bad feeling. .Sooo,

I grab my Pilot coffee and begin walking around front. . (Big building, it's at least 1/4 mile to the front).. walk inside. . Ask them, "are you sure I'm in the right spot? There is no 1 back there" (meaning there is no 125 ish!) Oh yeah, that's it just goto a little door and ring the bell. . They'll answer it.

So I get half way back to the truck and have a Homer Simpson moment. .(whatever noise he makes insert here) he thought I meant NO ONE is back there. . I'm not walking back. . So I'm be bopping along. . Step up on ice encrusted snow (meaning my foot doesn't break thru).. And ZING, I'm laying on my back looking up at my ankles and blue sky! SOB! But I didn't spill my coffee.

Now I'm mad. .I get to the little door and hold the button. . I'm trying to push it through the wall! Crickets. . No answer. I'm not walking back up front. . So I decide to drop my trailer and drive. . Before I can, a man magically appears and tells me I'm in the wrong spot. . Go back up front to door 125!!

Back to shipping. . "Yes door 125, we didn't know you were picking up" wtf? I gave you a pick up number and YOU verified it! ?

So 4 hours later they still haven't bumped me. .I go inside and ask. . Were still packaging product. . Receiver is very picky and will charge us 400 $ per if it's labeled incorrectly.

Okay? You didn't think of that yesterday when the appointment was set? (Is what I wanted to say) I guess it's cheaper to pay me $35 an hour to block their door and wait.

First 2 hours is on me.. I've made 70 $ And counting for doing nothing other than showing up.

 

I'm in Hebron Ky.. going to east point ga.. then I head to Greenville SC for pick up, delivering Roanoke IN Monday morning.
