i had that prob. with "on-board" fleet manager but not with reg, fleet mgr.
i saw it was more of a personal lack of professionalism than a reflection of operations staff as a whole.

Yea everything has to be documented phone call recorded cameras etc. The camera issue at Trans Am i believe you have to sign a waiver allowing them to record you at there discretion what another driver was telling me. For example he was backing up his truck at pilot(on private property) his wife didnt have her seat belt on they warned him next time she out of the truck. How far will the violation of privacy go before it gets out of control. Dont cover the camera up either its a violation for tampering with a safety device.

So should the shop wear cameras on there uniforms as well . So we can monitor there work progress and actually see that there doing the work they say there doing in an efficient manner . Heck maybe we can pair it to our smartphones so we can actually see them wrenching on it to.

laws are designed to screw the company with insurance claims . So maybe we need to change the way lawsuit are brought to the courts. Instead of finding ways to violate people privacy. But like i always say SOCIALISM IS FOR THE PEOPLE NOT THE SOCIALIST. Because the SOCIALIST think they are better than the rest of us.

Sorry JAG for burning up your thread on this topic . I understand bothsides of the issue . But at the end of the day 14th Amendment protects our rights from being monitored(Thats why you sign a waiver). Now if the Govt wants to monitor the trucking company fine Interstate commerece clause allows that . But not the driver . Now you have crossed the line. (unless you signed the waiver) .

The lease i signed for 45 months 3 yrs ago isnt the same lease now . I use to be able to refuse up to 3 loads . From what im hearing you cant refuse any now maybe im wrong . I hope so otherwise who gonna keep track of the revenue i have made if i dont have any control anymore.

Ive been dispatched on loads with 800 miles that deliver appt only 4.5 days later you mean i cant refuse that now BS to me .

Is what it is . When the lease is over should i stay or should i go. we will see in November. Later everybody

Police states don't need economic theories like socialism, democracy, capitalistic, secular, non-secular, agricultural, tribal, industrial, rural. A police state is a police state. Can exist in any...

Fortunately, the economy's good and jobs plentiful.

You can still turn down loads. That being said be rdy to face the backlash from doing so. You WILL pay for I promise you that.

That is definitley true but as long as there are plenty of options without them I will go elsewhere.

Wow, this kinda sounded like a good company until I got to the last dozen or so pages of this thread.

The funny thing is, nobody is against the camera as long its facing the road and its always funny reading the company claim that the camera only comes on a few seconds before an "event" as if the camera and pc software can predict these events ahead of time lol.

I plan on bringing my fiance and soon to be wife with me when I start driving and the last thing I need is to worry about them recording us on video 24/7.

I'm just gonna say it. The cameras do ONLY come on in the case of an event that will trigger the camera to start recording a designated time before and after the trigger. The reason this works is because the camera runs on a continuous loop with very minimal memory storage. They are not able to access it live. And in most cases there is a company that reviews the events before it even gets to the company.

Trust me when I share this information with you. We had them in our trucks for a little while before they took them all out. We have a no smoking policy in all of our trucks. I smoke a pack a day in there and have never been talked to about it. Not to mention some of the other dumb things I have done behind the wheel that I probably shouldn't mention. And while we had them not a single person got fired or even written up for doing something wrong.

Is your company driver friendly? Is your company owned by a lawyer? Oh and BTW Tom confirmed they 100% record audio as well. It's still to much of a line drawn in the sand for me.
