Ever since i began driving my truck which had over 600000mi when i got into it, when reversing it had a tendency to hop.
As if i were pushing the clutch pedal in/out very fast. I'm assuming this is a symptom of the clutch fading?

Can anyone verify that or tell me what else it could be?

Could be a load thing (heavy) I think or backing angle maybe or a combination of the two. I dunno. The pros will be along shortly!

Could be that you are forgetting to flip the high side gear selector back down to the low side.

Many trucks with air ride will do that, the torque on the cab is opposite, and it affects the clutch linkage, a lot on some units, especially if the front cab mounts are worn.
Cab-overs are bad for this, a fix is to install a dump valve on the cab air ride that works of the reverse switch. Tried and true method.
