One truck/one trailer o/o using a dispatch service resembles a mountain climber afraid of heights. If you add a factoring company into the equation, this mountain climber is not only fearful of heights but has a withered arm too.
Especially, if you are a solo o/o, don't feed all these parasitic bugs such as dispatch services, or factoring companies. There is never enough money to give away like that. Never enough. These things alone can be deciders of whether you make it or not.

Might as well lease on somewhere at that point. Then you'll at least get some extra benefits like load rescues and maybe some decent discounts.

I am a believer in a due course of things:
    1. At least 2-5 years of a company driver - to test yourself in the lifestyle this occupation demands.
    2. Become an o/o in a leased-on environment in which they can assist with fuel advances and financial aid with cash flow problems during major repairs, not to mention solving costly logistical problems when the breakdowns happen while loaded.
    3. If cash reserves are ready, and when insurance costs are sorted out, only then get the authority but one must realize that picking your own freight is one of the biggest reasons to get it in the first place. Delegating it to a 3rd party is defeating the purpose - that's a solo o/o. Maybe for a multiple trucks owner that is something justifiable, but hiring a dedicated dispatcher vested in a fleet's interests is still better a solution.

If you want to just give revenue away and a certain amount of control.why don’t you just lease to a carrier why pay the insurance cost.
