Rider Policy for my next company

    One thing about Holland though is you have to stay out a minimum of 3 weeks. But if that is your cup of tea I say go for it.

    I don't know everybody's situation but, do make sure she wants to be out in a truck for 4 weeks at a go. It can be a jarring change for someone not used to OTR, especially (some)women. I'm glad that my girlfriend is happy with me out on the truck, I can stay out longer, and we save on housing costs. My company's policy is immediate family but they're fairly flexible given the situation. Riders can be a liability for the company, small children can get hurt or easily misplaced at a truck stop and some companies don't want to risk former felons in their truck driving or not.
    All said just get on the horn with recruiters and ask about their rider policy, explain the situation. The right company will present itself in time.
