Does anyone use the right weight onboard scale systems or any other kind of onboard scale system? If so I'd like to get your thoughts on them as far as their accuracy, durability and overall if you're satisfied with them. Those 9 and 10 dollar scale tickets add up...... Thanks

I have a simple air pressure guage from the drives to a dash guage. Once I got used to it, I normally don't scale unless the weight is getting me near 79k gross.

Simple air pressure gauges work just fine...no need for the fancy expensive ones. Once you know how much air pressure the gauges indicate for a max legal load, you can limit your pay-scale visits to only those loads that have you right up close to maxing out when you know you'll have to cross a state scale.

My truck has a dual needle gauge, and a line running back to the trailer (quick-connect on the front of the trailer for the trailer suspension air). It is pretty rare that I pay to weigh my truck...maybe 2-3 times per year.

Same here, also I know Hendrickson already has all the work done for you. They already have the psi to lbs calculated, all you need to know is what model suspension your trailer has. I'm sure Neway has the same somewhere.

Here is the one for the 30k.
Here is the one for the 25k
Here is the one for the 23k

It's the same for the tractor, I know that 60psi is 34k on the drives on all of my KW's with 8bag suspension. Only needed to verify it once.

Print the correct one off and save yourself the money.

What kind of trailer do you pull? I'm running the same set up a kw with the 8bag ag380 suspension and 60 for me is usually a few hundred pounds over. Maybe it just depends on where I have my fifth wheel set I'll play with it some next time I get a chance. Thanks guys I appreciate it.

The AG380 is the 4 bag. The AG100-200-400-460 is the 8 bag. We pull grain hoppers and spread axle flats.

    Kenworth suspension.

You're right mine came with the AG380 but it was rebuilt into the 8 bag AG400. Thanks again for the help and info.

Hey can you elaborate on your quick connect set up for your trailer? I'm trying to put the pieces together to figure out the most efficient way to get both tractor and trailer weights and that sounds like the best way. Thanks

I use the Right Weigh load scales. Pretty accurate if on the level. I don't like to run without them. Money well spent.
