They tried this racket with me at SRT around the 2019 Takeover... I mean Merger. I'd just started my lease and received a call that went something like this:
Me: Hello?
Coordinator: Hello, Pyg, how are you?
Me: Fine. To what do I owe the pleasure today?
Coordinator: We were just calling to let you know that under the new merger, you may be required to train or team.
Me: Ok. So when would you like your truck back then?
Coordinator: What do you mean?
Me: The only person that I am willing to share this truck with is my wife. Anyone else is way out.
Coordinator: But it's more money to you.
Me: Yes. But you're also putting my career in jeopardy within those means.
Coordinator: What does that mean?
Me: Covenant likes to do opposite sex teams and trainees. In today's social climate, you trap me in a truck with a female and I happen to have a problem with her, she comes back saying that I've done something nefarious. Instead of investigating both sides, you'll fire me to save face, put a slanderous mark on my work profile and I can possibly never drive again. Also, I like my own personal space.
Coordiantor: Ok. We'll continue this discussion another day. *Hangs up.*
A few days later, they called and stated that due to the dedicated account I was on (Dow/XPO), that I couldn't train or team after all. So that's the first and only time I was "offered" to train or team.
Risk of being a trainer?

Several years ago, my carrier used CR England for highway sub-service. They would deliver to my local barn in Idaho. Mostly they were newbies that had no clue how to back into a dock, but there was a guy, who was a driver trainer, who ran dedicated out of Fontana 2 or 3 times a week. He was very professional and I got to know him a little. He would usually spend a couple hours doing backing practice in our yard if we weren't too busy. He would be outside the truck spotting and teaching while the rookie practiced. He claimed he grossed around 100K for his run plus training. My point is, even a crap company like CR England has some professionals.
