Explains why my sales guy didn’t give me a response the other day, haha. He told me they had a few W9’s on pre order for the dealership a few months ago expected to come early 2022, and all they had to do was send in a modification list for paint and specs as long as it reached them before the truck hit the assembly line. If that’s the case I guess it might be time to consider pre-owned rig and up my mechanical knowledge. My biggest fear is electrical with a 700k mile truck, and of course not having a warranty on the rebuild.

If I had your wants, I would visit these guys.

I got into their lot one day for a walk around and they had Pete's and w9's from old and needing work ro fresh inframes and fresh paint. If I were you and didnt go to California I'd stay pre-emission. I have a glider and after 2 emission trucks, am glad I have it.
A show truck will be a bit of a monster that will eat your cash, take the emission side out of it, and you may make it.

Is that place in Sandusky? I’ve heard a lot of sketchy things about that dealer, even some extreme things like breakdowns and major breakdowns same day or even a few weeks with their trucks.

I've been on here for years and never heard anything bad, tho ANY dealer is suspect....
If your buying used....any used from ANYBODY...... Caviot Emptor......
Rebuilds need paperwork, engines can have oil samples and dyno done BEFORE sale, check blow by.
If you do your homework you wont get stung. If you dont, huge roll of the dice. And that's ANY truck. ANY year. I've seen 1yr old trucks that I wouldnt touch with a 10ft pole. And 15 year old trucks that are a safe bet anyday. buyer beware.
If your looking for a hood. These guys have lots. They seemed like nice guys, I was, at one time, thinking I wanted one more hood.... gladly I bought a columbia glider with a s60 Detroit, cheapest easiest truck on the road to service, and .08c a mile maintenance.
    Money maker.
EDIT; And believe it or not, crazy resale. I paid 50k for my truck from Schneiders, almost 5 years ago with 320k mileson it. It has 780k on it now, and I can sell it for 45k , just need to pick up the phone. But it's a glider.

See I goofed earlier this year. I was about to send it and go O/O but backed out due to uncertainty. Almost all decent or great gliders/ pre owned rigs on TruckPaper legit vanished. I definitely will have to do my research and if not bring a knowledge mechanic with me to do an inspection. Thanks for the help by the way.

I have not heard good things about the dealer that sells hoods in Sandusky. Everyone who has bought one there that I have heard about bought a beautiful truck that 100% had major component issues. Yes caveat emptor, but if you're looking at a place that has such bad reviews, danger Will Robinson!
