Why doesn’t the booking broker/agent send the O/O a copy of his or her driver license and all other crap that they ask for from the drivers.
RMIS asks for Driver's license now

They tend to hold the cards, and choose who they want to work with, meaning those that will give them the least amount of trouble, from negotiating, stating accessorials, or the language spoken on the other end of the line. But I get it, I'm extremely picky too with who I work with, but broker loads are less than 10% of my yearly workload, and to this day have never had an issue, but believe me I have a list of accessorials I would love to put in writing, because I don't like being taken advantage of or lied to. I always felt like if I even tried to make demands I'd be told to kick rocks.Iamoverit Thanks this. -
The leverage comes from what the market is doing and what the competition is in the area. When the market is strong and/or your competition is weak you have leverage.
Right now the brokers have the leverage. Load board kings just can't seem to grasp that concept.
They're struggling through this market because they can't park it. They can't park it because they weren't profitable enough during the up-cycle to pay for the down.
The bigger picture is the ups never last as long as the downs. That's the dirtly little secret none of them will admit.
The best way to tell if you have leverage is to take that chance you mentioned. If they tell you to kick rocks you know what's happening in that area. That knowledge can be priceless if looked at from the proper angle.TheLoadOut and Siinman Thank this.
