I've spent the past 3 weeks on the road with a friend who was helping me with my skills. We didn't get as much time practicing as we hoped for as it seemed we were constantly under a load with no spare time. However, in the short times we did get to practice, he was a huge help and said I can do the backing skills, I just need to stop second guessing myself. I've got the offset down pretty good, but never got the chance to practice parallels and 90's.

I loved the time on the road. I wasn't ready to come home yesterday, but he was heading for home time and I needed to get back home and figure out what I'm going to do. I drove from Bunker Hill, IN to St Joseph MO last night. Left there around 7 and got here about 5 this morning. After being in his truck for 3 weeks, getting in my little Rav4 was a switch. I felt like I was sitting on the ground the whole way.

I got to talk with a few drivers from other companies while I was out, and they were all very positive and helpful about giving hints that may help. They also gave me some suggestions as to other options if I can't get in somewhere for training.

I believe I am going to check in to Landstar and FedEx Express expedited services. One also suggested checking in to Central. All I know for certain at this point is that I have road fever now even worse than before, and I'm ready to get my laundry done and head out again, but that isn't a possibility.

You all have a great weekend, and be careful out there. I saw several Prime trucks on my travels and hoped to get to talk with some, but I never got the chance. It seemed they were always on the road, not in a parking lot, not that we spent much time in them either...he he he.
