Road test examiner will follow in second vehicle?

Back a zillion years ago, in the old country, I took my motorcycle test, and was given a headset that fit inside the helmet for the examiner to yell in from a chase car. Had to really exaggerate visual checks of side roads etc, which was a distraction.

Sub optimal, but it worked.

 

Hmmm. I'm willing to accept applications and funds from those who need to pass the test.

 

My tester was like, " You're not gonna let OD beat you are you?"

 

That brought back some memories.

Testing for a motorcycle license in NV, and I was told to do things I would never do on the road.
I considered it unsafe, and said so.
You might have to do this in an emergency situation, he said. I said I will deal with that if it comes up, but I am not going to do something that stupid with my bike if I can help it. Who is going to pay for the damage and injuries if I drop it? You?
After arguing about it a bit, he let it slide and I passed.

 

So they won't be put into a position of possibly being infected, but they require someone else does just that?

And not only having to take instructions from a phone call, they further distract you by wanting a blow by blow account of everything you are looking at and doing?

Will the insanity end any time soon?

Doesn’t this constitute illegal use of a handheld device?

how does one listen/talk and focus on a test that is really nerve racking to begin with?

 

Not only that, but it's illegal to drive on just a CLP. There has to be a full CDL holder in the vehicle.....
