Wait so you think i think im a professional driver ?? How when im asking questions on a forum..
Like u guys kill me with the bs here might be my last time visiting this forum to many big egos
All of you act like driving a truck is rocket science before applying to this job i was at a bs job guys were driving class b trucks with no cdl never been to cdl school
you dont have to go to school to be a pro driver you just need lots of time behind the wheel to PRACTICE
And i do know the basics i was put in a new truck that is way different different gear pattern different way you load clutch it jus felt different prlly had synchronizer or whatever
and i still held my own if i was to test in a ten speed class a it woulda been a whole different story
even the Dam trainers at my school would get in a different truck n grind n miss gears guys who been driving trucks for years
Like wtf is wrong with people here i dont wanna be a dam super trucker u could have that title all i wanna do is drive the safest i can & make money
Like everyone has to start somewhere even a new employee at another type of job runs the risk of fukn up that's just life
Mr ceo is worried about high turn over rate resulting in low wages, broken down equipment and anover-all perception that truck drivers are dangerous lol bro your a truck driver #### -
We can tell you're not a professional anything. Go drive your class A ten speed (whatever the #### that is) on down the road my man.
I'll have the number 3 with curly fries and a diet coke plz.GasHauler Thanks this. -
Op, you are right. The 6 speed is most likely a synchronized transmission. I didn't expect that in a larger straight truck, although it is very common in "cdl buster" straight trucks, the 26k ones. Do you have any experience with such a transmission, have you ever driven a manual car? Or was truck school your first experience with a stick shift?
T_Bone Thanks this. -

And @ChaoSS hes just petty and immature not even worried about the dum remarks like i never driven a synchronized truck before its a whole different way it shifts i understand if i bombed in what i was training in cdl school i jus need sum practice i knw i could drive it i did pretty good -
A syncromesh trans does not need double clutching. Push the clutch down all the way, shift to next year, release clutch.
T_Bone and RedTheTrucker Thank this. -
Yes, the engine will typically rev higher. It's a smaller motor, they tend to run faster. Btw, engines can shift at pretty much any rpm. I can shift up at 900 rpm if I want. Sure, the engine will lug and have no power, but the shifting works just fine. They teach you to shift at a certain point every time because that helps you to time your shifts, and helps you keep it in the power band. In an unfamiliar truck you can experiment, if you feel the power falling off, shift up a gear. If you shift up and have no power, you shifted too early.T_Bone and RedTheTrucker Thank this. -
Ok so when i downshift in synchronized tranny do i still add a rev before clutch in or us it just clutch in all the way downshift no rev?
