Ok that makes sense now. Actually drove a long logger with 80 gears hahaha. No really. 10 sp with a 4 sp aux and 2 speed rear ends. Why? Cobbed together trucks, jesus.

I hate 10 speeds. IMO would rather have a 9 than a 10.
Cattleman84 and AModelCat Thank this. -

Anybody had to deal with the old Spicer Syncro-Master 12 speed? 12 forward and 6 reverse gears.
Spicers first attempt at an air shifted married main/ compound setup. -
I think of 13/18 shifting without splitting as going up 1.5 gears, a little higher revs if not splitting.Brettj3876 and Chubby Fly Thank this. -
They also had a single “sissy stick” 16 speed and 20 speed setup.
It was their attempt to give the 2 stickers a single stick and air operated aux. box. So that they could compete with the new Road Rangers.
Spicer ruled the world for trannies back then and all of a sudden here comes the Eaton-Fuller, Clark & Towne Road Ranger to change history.JMon Thanks this. -

Another thing I like about an 18 is in stop and go traffic, can always find a gear to keep moving slowly without killing my knee clutching.
