I leased on to Transus Intermodal 9 years ago. This was a great family owned business. They paid a great rate and fuel surcharge. They really cared about their drivers.

Along comes Roadlink Intermodalogistics. They ran a great family owned business into the ground. Every since they bought out Transus, it's been down hill every day. :biggrin_25510:They have cut our pay 4 times in 18 months. Our fuel surcharge is what ever they want it to be instead of being tied into the national average. On top of the paycuts, they are not paying the correct mileage for our runs. They intenionalaly short the miles to the next lower mileage band to short the driver even more.

I can no longer keep up my equipment to DOT standards. It has become unsafe to stay leased to Roadlink. I have cut corners just to keep my head above water.

They are hiring any driver that can walk. You don't even have to speak English. As long as you can get the containers from point A to point B for the lowest price, you are qualified.

I know I am a disgruntled driver letting off steam, but the truth is the truth. I will give an example of what they now pay to move a container from Atl. GA to Savannah Ga. . They pay a flat rate of $240.00 minus $38.00 dray if you do not take it to the port. So if you can move a 40,000 lb container 250 miles for $202.00 , then this is your place.

I have seen new drivers walk out after getting their first check. Yes they made $1800 gross. But after their deductions, Fuel, Bond, tags, truck insurance, med insurance, disability insurance and ridiculous office fees, there is only two or three hundred left over.

I have to make a decision on if I should lease my truck on with another company or get a company driver position. Please stay away from Roadlink. They only care about their bottom line for their investors.

They also "conveniently" pull the containers out of the port before they offer the loads to you so you have to pay the dray fee.
I used to have 4 trucks leased to Transus and did pretty good with them but, as you stated, when Roadlink bought them out it went down hill very fast, Especially with their "Perk" and administration fees. I have since sold all but 1 of my trucks and have done decent pulling a Flat bed for Ace Doran.

    Run don't walk from Roadlink.

Something you forgot is they hire truckdrivers everyday and may not even have a load for them. Your right though when you say transus was a good company that cared about drivers. Roadlink bought them when they were a money making company and destroyed the morale there! It's strange how they have cut the rates and still continue to do so. Could it be because we continue to tolerate it? When they see that they can continue to hire drivers and move the freight they will cut them again! Like you I am looking to jump ship as soon as possible. Sure do miss transus !!
