After obtaining my CDL class A and doing some reserach and from many advices here, I realized I have to go to school for the hours required by many companies, for that I'm thinking on going to Roadmaster, Jacksonville. I do not have a good credit and I even received a credit denied notification from one finance institution but the recruiter asure me that I'm approved on his end and I should attend as scheduled.
Now, I have done some more research about this and I found some people been admited and kicked out after they have spend some days even the three weeks but not allowed to do the final exam unless they come out with a co-singer or some cash at front even though, as to me, they were asure there were not problems for the tuition fee.
Can anyone say anything about this? How of true this can be, etc.?
I'm looking for options out there, either going to school then get hired later or go to a company and sign with them for a schoold and work for them for the 12 months period.
No sure what to do yet, thanks.

If you have bad credit id suggest stay away from trucking. good companies are few and far between and the bad ones will put you in the poor house.
Get a decent job and try to rebuild your credit. You will be at the mercy of these companies who can sniff desperation like a shark can sniff blood. Trucking should be something you want to do, not a job of last resortsLonesome Thanks this. -
I have read a lot about the trucking industry on this forums and many of them are very negative so I know what I'm getting myself into at lease from the people's point of view.
A lot of jobs out there would check your credit to give you promotions and maybe certain positions. In trucking, at lease to start up, the way is set up is to eat the new driver's lunch, I could have a ton of cash and an 850 credit and I still have to suck it up if I wanted to go with any company as a new hire.
If for one think I may seem desperate is more becouse I do want to do this rather than a necesity, if that was the case I would not like to go through all the hassar been presented to me as far as these forums goes. -
Have you tried a trade school/community college? Depending on your income you may qualify for a government/pell grant. Even if you think you don't qualify for assistance, ASK! All they can say is, Sorry you don't qualify..I attended a CDL school in Little Rock Ar (A LONG TIME AGO, geez I'm old) and the school financed it in house based on my previous work history and employability...Good luck
