I went to that school when it was in Murfreesboro. $750.00 for a 10 day cdl school. GI Bill wouldn't pay for it because it was too short. Well, it worked and was my start on a good career. No complaints about that.

 

Yeah, I remembered you went there also. My dad & brother used the school, dad was grandfathered when CDL started and brother did it a year before I went. Remember the Teledyne shop and all of the gravel dust? Good time.

I live just a couple of miles away from that old school location.

 

I remember a dairy company across the street. The instructors told us, "Don't go over there and ask for a trucking job; they won't hire you with no experience."

 

Me too, and I thought that was to much!

 

If you go to any of the south Phoenix alleyway vendors you can get your CDL for $50. Same goes for Glendale.

 

I went to ATDS about a year ago, and it cost me just a little less than $6k for a 210 hour course.

I almost financed it because I didn't really feel like writing that big of a check all at once, but when I saw their terms I paid in full.

A classmate of mine didn't have that option, and went ahead with the loan to a tune of almost $14k once it was all said and done. Seems like predatory lending to me, but no one twisted his arm. He is still driving for a living though, and he's actually doing well last time I talked to him.

 

11k? That is insane! Herd em in & out like cattle...

 

OP said it was $7k for school & $4k for "finance fee", whatever that is.
