Hi I have a question about this school. I am moving to florida real soon and want to get my cdl A, I already have my cdl B with air brakes endorsement. I am wondering if anyone knows the cost to attend this school, the % of grads, do they do there own testing for lic there meaning no D.O.T or troppers, how are the instructors and any info of trucking companies that hire from that school. Thank you for any help on this.

I graduated from Roadmaster in Tampa. There is another in Jacksonville on I-295. I went in Jan. 2006 and that time financing came to $7,200. This is 2006 and there are some companies that will pay student loan as long that you stay with them for certain amount of time. The Tampa roadmaster has a shifting simulator and hi tek computers. But again, this was 2006 and for recruiting, they will sell you Werner because werner donates retiring equiptment to them.

thank you, does dot or troopers do the testing or do there instructers do it?

Roadmaster instructors do the drive test and then you have to go to the local DMV. office and take the computer exams to get your license. You can take this exam without going to roadmaster and pay $50.00 but no company will hire you.

I recently graduated from the Roadmaster school in Tampa. I did the 3 week, M-F class. It was intense & got me prepared for the DOT tests. I passed all of the tests the first time and am a happy owner of a CDL Class A license.
If you see any people on here griping about trainers & how they are mean, rude, insensitive...blah blah - these students aren't drivers you want on the road. The instructors are there to get you ready to drive a truck, they are not there to coddle you or make you feel special. They have a short time to get you road ready for the test. Listen to them, follow directions and everything will work out just fine. These instructors are top notch. I would absolutely recommend this school.Drac1985 Thanks this. -
As for Roadmaster; Good school. I attended Orlando campus back at the end of 09 and got my CDL on New Years Eve. Very good instructors and I would rec. them because of it. Out of curiousity, does RM still hand out the study sheet for the hazmat endorsement portion???
