Roads are fine. Fix the 4wheelers. No matter what road you design, there will still be the same problems in traffic as we have today. Special training and a freeway endorsement on the license should be required before car commuters are allow on the interstate.

City intersections and intersections within industrial parks, should be large enough to accomodate 2 tractor-trailers making simultaneous left turns. What good is a left turn light if you have to wait for the oncoming traffic before you can turn?

Someone mentioned on this thread about the lane marking in Florida. How they're easy to see. well get ready to lose that. they used to put a few coats of paint when striping a road but now counties are adopting a new type of asphalt. It looks very like there's a lot more gravel content in it which is true and is actually supior to the old mix of asphalt.
But the problem is that this new hardtop mix actually absorbs the paint which makes it alot harder to see and what makes things worse is they only put down one coat so its almost invisable in rain or at night. Dont believe me take a gander at I-75 NB and SB between ocala and wildwood (cental FL) the asphalt is good stuff I used to work at a place that made it. It last longer holds up better but like i said absorbs the paint so it makes it hard to see. so enjoy it while it last -

One thing I've noticed is that in eastern and southern states that can get A LOT of rain in no time flat that their roads slope more than states like mine that do not have to drain a lot of water off in a short amount of time. -

I think he's made an unintentional alternate point though. Inside the loop of Atlanta people drive on the interstate like they're in their driveways. I'd think that an endorsement and some education would at least infer to people that there is just a leetle sumthin' different about the interstate roadways.
They'd still be self-centered idiots, but at least they might pay a little more attention. AND...there could be fines or removal of an endorsement for causing accidents. -
There are times that I-76 near Philadelphia IS like a driveway. Or should I say parking lot...

I really like Floridas street signs that have the light inside of them so you can see them at night really easy. But overall bigger street sign with letters 3" taller would great. In Green bay wi, or Aswaubanon to be exact all truck legal roads are yellow street signs vs NON truck legal routes us green signs. Works really nice but Ive only seen it in aswaubanon.
I really hate Michigans on/off ramps because you cant get back onto the highway unless you make a u-banger over the median. Another MI problem i have is the hanging stop/go light in the middle of the inter section. Its impossible to judge when your light will turn green and have the truck in gear ready to go.
