Robot Truckers Could Replace 500K US Jobs

The way the bell curve math works out on that request is gonna be your deal killer.
Only 5% of the population has an IQ over 125 and those folks are busy stealing your money!

Its just like the women looking for a husband over six feet tall. They have limited themselves to 15% of the population but wonder why they dont have a man.
Now lets say they also want that husband to have your 125 IQ. Guess what happens to the field now!

 

Some of the larger mines have gone autonomous with dump trucks, however these vehicles are operating on private roads with restrictions to speed limits with large bunds in place to stop vehicles going places they are not supposed to. I can't see how they could operate autonomous vehicles on main highways there are just to many dangers involved, it could only happen on restricted roads which remote controlled vehicles just like with the mines.

 

Um yeah, bit ironic, his statement, proof that some people arent qualified to set restrictions or even think or talk about them.

Specifically iq, by definition that will reduce the pool to 5% of the population, assuming that truck drivers currently have a normal distribution that is not skewed higher or lower to begin with, its the mark of a deeply average (or lower than average iq) to even entertain the idea of firing 95% of current drivers

 

Gets worse as i think on it, 207 mill working age population, 5 % of that is only 10.3 million

So 1/3 of iq over125 would be what? Drafted?

You want mathmaticians driving semis? With all their practical problem solving abilities? (Sarcasm in case you missed it)

That will be an improvement to the sorry state of trucking today.
Bring on the automated trucks ASAP.
