Yes it is the same old dung. You can apply the same old dung to 99% of the otr companies out there. Just my opinion of course.

    Drive safe

Not so much the content, but some of my former bashers are having to eat crow.
And yes, you can apply the "dung" to a large percentage of large carriers out there.
I'm glad I got out of that world when I did.

Noone's having to "eat crow", the simple fact is even the threads where drivers were talking about how they liked Roehl were apparently a great place for you to post things that you thought EVERY driver experienced. My miles are still there and much of what I believe did apply to you doesn't apply to me and many other drivers of the company. It's not that we're bashing you, it's just us getting sick of you taking every single thread with Roehl and turning it into a Roehl-bashing thread, making generalizations that every driver here has it awful. I can read posts where people love and hate every company (except Navajo, apparently--can't find where anyone said something good), and it's obvious to everyone that their experience isn't always the same, or even close, to the others' experiences. Of the over-the-road companies, I still believe I have it better than most. I talk to these drivers daily and can gather an opinion of the company without them even voicing theirs.

The crow eaters are the one's that in their first three months we are treated to them bashing the six month guys. A few short months later they are headed out and getting bashed by a whole new crowd of wide eyed wonders. In some ways Homeboy represents consistency. He comes back, and back, and back, aaaaannnnnddddd back(Couldn't resist). Many of the quitters throw up some wild accusations rebut a time or two then are gone. I do notice that most of the quitters are usually hitting on the same points and that bears some merit.

Mr Moore you however are rapidly becoming an exception to the rule. You are having some success as you define it(And that's all that matters) and seem to be happy. For every hundred drivers we do get one to stick for at least a year. Those that last that long are usually around for a while. As far as gathering opinions goes I do the same. I have the added advantage of having former students calling me with their issues. What I am hearing can be alarmingly bad. Roehl needs to get their load planners to wake up and soon. Way too many guys suffering from their incompitence.

Sadly I am moving on now myself. I got my tanker job that is as close as I will ever get to that local gig many of us dream of. Living in the cornfield does limit my options. Pulling a tank is the only way I ever saw myself leaving Roehl. I wouldn't dream of dragging a dry box around for any other carrier.

New guys listen up. Roehl can be very good. It can also be very bad too. Much of it is what you put into it but it also takes quite a bit of luck to make it go right.

I don't believe I am eating crow. Roehl was very good at first. I had a good DSR and all was fine. I was getting home on time and my miles were very good. Then it all changed. I got re-assigned to April and had wayne as a back up. Wayne was rude and could careless about the drivers need. April couldn't do anything without running to Carl and having him deal with her mess. She would never stand up for the driver and defend the driver against the planner. Several times I had to go above her head because the planners were being complete idiots and she would just agree with them. I could never get in touch with her and she was sarcastic to alot of my needs. The problem was that to me she was Roehl and as their representitive to me the driver she made them look bad. I finally got so sick of her that I was willing to quit and move on but I know I needed that years experience. I got my Hazmat, doubles and tanker endorsements and am ready and willing to leave if it does not change. I left the national fleet and went to the 7/4 7/3 fleet. The only reason I switched fleets was because I knew that I would be assigned a differnt DSR. I still believe Roehl is one of the best OTR companies out there but they do have some terrible DSR's and planners that are making alot good drivers go elsewhere.

Sadly you are hitting it bang on. I myself was leaving regardless(I am so friggin' tired of bumping docks it ain't funny) but the thing that pushed me over the edge was the abysmal state of the load planning. Dispatchers have gone from being involved with the load selection to mere complaint dept. employees, powerless to effect any real change. You have all your endorsements and that tells me you have some sense. You were smart enough to think ahead on that. I was amazed by how many guys came through my truck with just a plain Jane class A. Take your time and pick carefully EK.

Yes, move forward. And I'm not looking for your approval when I offer opinions.
    Now, drive.

Who is Noone? Oh, you meant no one. And there are a lot of "tenured" drivers leaving there, much less newbies. Hey, I know every company has problems, but your company lied to me about every thing that was important to me... miles, pay, bonuses. I got home on time, but that was of minimal importance compared to making a living. And from what I read here from experienced drivers the planners and dsr's are giving you guys more grief than when I was there. Congrats to you if things are good, but don't lead some newbie into a web of lies and have them find out the hard way that they won't make a living over there. The exceptions to the rule that you speak of are you, the norm are the broke, disgruntled new drivers looking for only what they were promised, nothing more.
Ask the mofamilyman why he left. See if it was because he was making his living and getting home on time. Then pm me or post or whatever. If I'm wrong I will admit it, but I'm not. I got some decent training there but life on their payroll is slow and broke.
They lied to me about everything and I will come to this site from time to time and tell it
over and over again. Bitter, you betcha. And I don't care what you or anyone else thinks.
If I can inform someone about what they are getting into so they don't get blind sided like I did then I will. And Roehl doesn't sound like it's getting any better either. But their ads sound sweeter.
    Done, for now.
