The Bad---
I applied to Crete last Fri and had heard nothing. I called today and some very young person answered the phone and told me that since I had not indicated which school I was attending the application was denied. There was no place for an explanation to the effect that I am not in school yet. I sent a hardcopy app today with that info handwritten in. If these people are short on drivers they should look at their process.
The Good----
I applied to Roehl Sunday evening, got a call Monday morning, and am well on the way. These people have their act together. The left hand knows what the right hand is doing, so to speak. Also a plus is their training program. 3 weeks of CDL-A training at their campus in Marshfield, WI (for only $2500 if I end up paying for it). Then a break at home. Then 2 weeks with a trainer. Then a break at home. Then 2 weeks with a trainer. Then you get your own truck! So it is 4 weeks cooped up with someone else instead of the usual 8. I am a fast learner and also believe, as most have said, you are always learning and never know enough.
I will keep y'all up to date.

I thought you had to have one year verifiable experience to drive for Crete?
-
Nope, they hire right out of school, talked with them the other day.
-
Well their website says one year required. Guess they should update that.
Do they have their own training school?
Edit: CDL school I mean.
