Hey all, I applied to Roehl and missed a call from a lady trying to get a hold of me (calling back monday morning since I didn't find out she called until late friday) for more information. I currently don't have a CDL and I have heard good things about their CDL school. Would it be worth it to go through their school, if accepted, or get my CDL through a local school or just plain on my own as my family fortunately has the proper equipment to do so.

I'm on week 2 of their school now, very informative, why not got to school with roehl, they pay 500 a week
-
Thanks for the response, $500 a week was one of the big things that made me lean towards roehl vs others (swift, prime, crst,CRE). I'm just on the fence as I've heard a lot of bad things at majority of the CDL schools that companies provide. Do you have to share your room with another student or are they single rooms?

Roehl and millis were my short list , I looked at the rest prime, cent refregerated crst swift ,
The hotel is double occupancy, but as I am doing , you can pay a little extra and get your room. I wanted my own room and that little extra per night helped my piece of mind -
How much is it to get your own room? Also how many is in your class with you? I heard this past week of a guy who only had like 10 in his entire class. I'd prefer smaller classes since it will mean more one-on-one time if help is needed.

Update:
I got in contact with my employment specialist and have some things to do paperwork wise. I thought roehl, as most companies I thought at least, paid for the students travel up to the school.
Am I mistaken or has that changed recently. -
I just drove my personal vehicle, I'm not sure if they pay

How's that half a sandwich and a bag of chips lunch treating you?
I went to glassdoor.com and looked them up.
-some people got let go after training and are still expected to pay for training = thousands of dollars. They will aggresively pursue you and if you do manage to get on with another company they will sue the company you are working for.
-cameras in trucks.
-trucks governed at 61
-low amount of miles for drivers
The biggest complaint that I read from driver after driver---drivers that had been there YEARS all said the same thing, the routing was terrible. That would suck to be a new driver, routed through some small backroads way, have an accident on unfamiliar roads, get fired and have to pay back a lot of money. -
Half of sandwich and chips ? 12" subs chips and drink . Full menu to order upon . Don't believe everything you read on the web. Check out swift, crst, cr England etc , read those reviews.

I might not believe it when one person says it, but when multiple people mention it, there is a good chance it's true.
No comment on the rest?
