Roehl will never ask you to drive unsafe or in violation if something is broken. I do suggest you learn how to replace your own trailer lights though. Saves you tons of time rather than waiting at a repair facility!

Would you need a saw and a rivet gun?

The only ones I've only had to replace myself are the mid-side light. Only requires removing the rubber grommet, disconnecting the plugs and reinstalling new light. Maintenance will even give you extra lights to carry with you!

Ive had to replace a few lights. Once I just fixed it and forgot it instead of sitting on hold and getting a po # and all that. Your flats are nice tho since everything is in reach. Lol

It took about a year for me to float the gears well, but now 5 years later, I can't imagine clutching every gear, my left leg doesn't get paid enough to do that! :biggrin_25520:

I'm not coordinated enough to double clutch. I can use one hand on the shifter, or as my daughter calls it "the stick thingy." The other hand on the steering wheel and the right foot on the gas, but that left foot on the clutch guessing at about two inches is just a bit more than I can deal with.

Roehl tries to do everything on the cheap, but Notez is right. They won't make you drive equipment that is unsafe or in violation, other than maybe an ABS light that comes on. We have some in the shop that are so cheap that when I call in to use my maintenace account you would think I was spending money out of their personal bank account on my truck.

meh...I have replaced a mid trailer light before....but I had to rewire a connector in too cause the one that was in it completely corroded off into the old assembly....took me a whole 20 minutes and a few bucks I got reimbursed for the harness...

I have fixed minor issues and a couple not so minor...but not major myself on the road just to keep rolling and not have to deal with the maintence guys getting me in somewhere...and sitting for a couple hours for someone to do something I already know how to do..

I still double clutch. Its just my favorite way of doing it. I can float fine, but I prefer to double clutch. Everyone's different though.
