I'm the OP of this thread. I am still with Roehl and things are actually going pretty good. When I reached the three year point of employment it seemed like my loads got a lot better. I almost always have a preplan and loads are generally 7-900 miles. I'm averaging about 27-2800 miles per week. Still more live load/unload than I would like, but overall satisfied. Now if I could only get a new truck and a pay raise. LOL

I'm thinking of going to Roehl. Most of what I have heard is positive about them. Could any of you folks tell me how much of a choice you're given as a driver about where they gonna send you?
-
And could you also tell me how much of their frieght tends to be drop and hook?

I've been at this gig for twelve years. It may be the synic in me but I think they all lie. I'm ready to pick a company and make the best of it. What kinda trucks do these folks have any way? All freight shakers?
And have you heard any news about weather they plan on getting new trucks? -

it depends on who you ask....I have driven the 9400's the columbia's and now a cascadia...you don't really get a choice in trucks its whatever is available when they issue you a truck...I didn't really have any problems with any of them...my international was sold when I picked it up..so I had to take it to marshfield...then I got my columbia...it was a great truck never had any major issues just minor stuff here and there...mostly it was a quick in and out of the shop...until the turbo decided to shed fins and blow them into the cylinders...now I am in a New Cascadia and love it so far.....Roehl keeps on top of maintence issues...if you have an older truck it should run good for you...but as in everything mechanical...there are those trucks that do have issues...most of them are due to the previous or current drivers not taking good care of them...
cheflee Thanks this. -
