My best friends cousin trained with Swift and wanted to get off the truck in NJ because she just was not cut out for OTR work (her words). The trainer wanted her to wait till they got to a terminal so she called DP and used the sexual harassment card and they bought her a ticket back to Spokane Wa. ASAP. She even told me that he did not do anything to her but when she asked for a ticket the first time they refused until she cried harassment.

If you think giving you newer equipment, being fast tracked to a dedicated or local job, and being given lots of drop and hook frt is discrimination. Then yes you will probably experience that at Roel.

By the way, some trainers are married and their wives don't want their hubby spending weeks in a truck with a female driver even if it is platonic.

The trainer was trying to get this lady back to a terminal, which was a much safer place to leave her. He was bending over backwards for her it sounds like. What does she do? Whine and pull every trick she has. Harrassment? Try 'annoying tyke who was trying to freeload'. A tyke who got her way is what she was. Sounds like a typical whining freeloader who needs his or her mommy right NOW. I wonder if this chick sucked her thumb and carried a blanket like Linus?

Probably never shuts her yap:biggrin_25516: thinking every little word or action is harrassment or sexist, etc... Can't deal with men that act like that let alone a woman I'm not married to or shacked up with...That is if I were a trainer of course.

I understand. I would probably rather go with a female. That's why I wish Roehl would have female driver trainers in my area, or at least more men who were ok with training females. I think the situation of females having to wait longer than males to train for no other reason than they are females is wrong. Roehl should take steps to prevent this.

Or how about they fix the problems that cause drivers to leave before one year and lessen the burden for driver trainers.....

Nah I hate those PC sexual harassment liberal ######. I think it's their fault so many men don't want to or are scared to be alone with a female for any amount of time.

I just think it's bull I have to wait longer because I'm female.

Well yea she's a ##### for saying it was sexual harassment but sounds like Swift said, "we won't let you do what you want to do unless you say you were sexually harassed."

The thing is though females can sexually harass other females and males can sexually harass other males. I don't think there should be any special sexual harassment classes for female students or male drivers. Either show it to everyone or don't show it at all. Personally, I would go with not showing it at all. It's just a waste of time.

What's there to be sorry about? I was just stating a few reasons a man might not want to train a woman. Am I a bad guy if I don't want to train a woman because I'll have to pull over every 2 hours, affecting my pay?

The only reason she was on a truck at all was because she was on public assistance. She has bipolar disorder and has always had trouble holding down jobs because of her mood swings.

I will however say that she raised a fine son who is on his second tour in Iraq as a medic with the marines. So the apple doesn't always fall close to the tree.
