Roehl or Schneider, Which is the better of the two for drivers starting out?

I would study to get all the endorsements you would want while in class. In my opinion it’s easier to get them when you do the cdl conversion than to wait till your on the road and not have enough time to be waiting at the dmv all day

 

I started my driving career at Schneider National Bulk Inc in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. The driving and practical training were excellent. After training over the road life (National Network) was easier than expected and after a year was earning decent money.
After ten years behind the wheel I am very happy to have started w/ Schneider Bulk.

 

I'm looking at applying w/ Schneider Bulk in Houston, TX later this year when I finish CDL school. Can you give an idea of what new driver can expect to make, miles and home time working out of Houston?

 

As soon as you get a class start date, you can start contacting companies about driving jobs. You'll get job offers contingent upon successfully completing cdl school and having any required endorsements. Apply to as many companies as you want; the more the better, then take the best offer.
CDL school usually push 3 or 4 companies because it makes their job placement easy. You can find better jobs simply by asking questions on this forum. You don't need the cdl school's job placement help.

 

Schneider does not allow Intelligent Life Forms in the truck.

 

They give you an intelligence test. If you pass you aren't Schneider material.
