Roehl Orientation. I have a question

orientation consists of teaching you some of roehls policys, making sure you know about hazmat, no real 'test' invovled realy. roehl hauls VERY little hazmat but the fmcsr requires all drivers know about hazmat anyway.

you will take a road evaluation to get a handel on your skill level. then you will get with a driver trainer for 10-13 days, home 2, out with a 2nd trainer for 10-13, then you take a road test and a simple backing test as well as a written test, then you will be assigned your truck.

did you have any experience? I only have 3 months but the recruter told me I would only be with trn 5-7 days after orientation. Whats with all the trn time you wrote about?

 

i am nearly out of evoIII right now. so yes i have some experiance.

the minamum is 10 days with each trainer (20 total) as far as i know there is no max... but its no less then 10 days because i am realitivly good for a student driver, but both trainers said i had to have a minamum of 10 days with each, company policy.

you have to be on duty and/or driving for at least 4 hours a day during this time.

after both trainers you go to evo III, which you are solo and paid mileage, however you have a dispatcher that is temporary. taht deals with new drivers and dumb questions. well not dumb ones but they know you will be calling every few seconds so yeah they put you with that for 4 weeks. after that you get a permanant dispatcher.

also during evoIII you take 'close quaters training' after youve been out solo for a bit. no this isnt giving u a sub machine gun or shotgun and putting u in a room with pop up targets much to my disappointment. its a backing exercise, where you back into 4 differnt postions in a small area taht is blocked off with cement blocks. it would be difficult but my school taught me well, also i have a knack for truckin so it was simple for me.

Since you have three monthes experance you were told right you will go out with a mentor. What he is talking about is newbie drivers getting trained.

 

2 1/2 days of brainwashing and paperwork.
Its just a stupid video then a quiz hand the test to the sucker next to you and your done, no worries
